Editor of "Nota Bene" is arrested for two months
Editor of scandalous newspaper "Nota Bene", Sardar Alibeyli, has been arrested for two months, pending investigation. Such a decision was passed by the Khatai District Court.
He was arrested on July 31 on charges of hooliganism (Article 221 of the Criminal Code,) and was sentenced to three years of imprisonment.
Police said that it had received a complaint from a citizen, claimed that Alibeili beat him. However, the editor said he was not familiar with the complainant, Turan was told by the lawyer, Elchin Sadigov.
Alibeyli was repeatedly arrested and detained because of the critical and insulting articles in his newspaper. The colleagues of the editor believe that this time he has been arrested for critical notes and a collage on the head of state Ilham Aliyev, placed on the Facebook page of the editor.-05D-
