Police detains the protesters supporting Khadija Ismaylova
Dozens of journalists have been detained by police near the metro station "Nizami" at 18:00 pm on August 2. They were put on a bus and taken to the Yasamal District Police Station 27. Among the detainees are media reporters who gathered to cover the action of protest and support Khadija Ismaylova, a journalist of "Azadlig" (Freedom) radio.
“You can not shoot, can not cover!” shouted police shoving us into the bus", said Etimad Budagov, a report of Turan agency.
Today women-journalists were going to make a silent march with photographs of Khadija Ismayilova to the center of the city expressing protest against the harassment and solidarity with her.
In recent days, the authorities have begun a new campaign of harassment and intimidation of a journalist, who exposed corruption in the high echelons of power. -02В-
