Eight lawsuits launched in connection with illegal exploitation of 96 sand quarries
Baku / 06.08.18 / Turan: Eight lawsuits have been filed in the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan in connection with the illegal exploitation of 96 quarries. The employees of the Ministry of Ecology have revealed the violations of legislation in the exploitation of sand and gravel pits, in particular in the riverbeds, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office informs. On the basis of collected materials, eight lawsuits have been filed under the Articles 192 (illegal business), 247 (violation of the rules of environmental protection during work) and 308 (misuse of official powers), etc. The investigation is conducted in the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Attorney General.
The head of Eurasian Evrascon corporation Manaf Shirinov, the head of Titanic-5 LLC, Shahin Mammadov, the foreman of Azvirt ,Ibrahim Guluyev, the head of Alliance LLC, Nariman Yakhyaev, the head of Gyulovsha LLC, Mahir Allahverdiyev and the chairman of OOO "Gara-Gum holding" , Yasif Agayev. In relation to them, a measure of restraint was chosen - transfer to police supervision.
A number of others have been arrested.
During the investigation, damage to citizens and the state was established for AZN 2.7 million, tax evasion for 182,000 manats.
Compensation for the damage was provided. Lawsuits have been sent to the courts. -06D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
