Ex-deputy saves woodcock

Last Saturday in the center of Baku a rare event occurred, which was fixed by Turan. Early in the morning on the grass in the park Sahil there appeared a rare bird - a woodcock. It was injured and could not fly. It darted between the trees and bushes and was rescued by a bystander. The ex-MP Kerim Kerimov, together with the current MP Mubariz Gurbanli picked up the wounded bird.

According to Kerimov, he later gave the woodcock to the caring hands of a veterinarian.

Note that the woodcock is a bird that lives in the foothills and the forest area. It can be found in the migration period (spring and fall). Waterfowl (ducks, geese, etc.) during migration fly over Apsheron, and in cold winters (as in 2011) they came to Baku, however, woodcocks do not appear here.

Ornithologists believe the appearance of a woodcock in Baku is another natural anomaly, the reasons for which it is difficult to ascertain. However, last winter, the coldest in many years, thousands of birds, including some pelicans and flamingos, found refuge in Baku. -02B-
