Cahangir Hacıyev
Ex-head of IBA in Pre-infarction State
Baku / 04.06.20 / Turan: Amina Hajiyeva, sister of ex-head of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Jahangir Hajiyev, once again asked President Ilham Aliyev for help.
In a letter addressed to the head of state, she claims that her brother faces death, and his detention, in the presence of a serious illness, is tantamount to a death sentence.
Amina Hajiyeva reports that on the night of June 2 to 3 he developed symptoms of acute heart failure, hypertension and shortness of breath. In connection with the deterioration, the ambulance was called to correctional facility No. 13 in the village of Lokbatan, where her brother is serving his sentence. A cardiogram was taken by the arriving doctor, and an examination was performed, which, as he indicated, indicates the patient’s infarction condition.
However, the doctor refused to introduce himself and pass the results of the examination to Hajiyev, she said.
“Jahangir suffered from a chronic thyroid disease for a long time and was regularly treated on an outpatient basis. Due to the nature of the disease, he was examined twice a year. He was denied a medical examination since he was arrested in 2015. Therefore, since it is impossible to determine the dose and quantity of drugs taken in connection with the disease, the drugs do not have an effect and, on the contrary, exacerbate his cardiovascular diseases,” notes Amina Hajiyeva. -0—

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
