Expert on the reasons for low rates of entrants this year
Baku/15.08.19/Turan: On August 15, the registration of students who entered this year began in Azerbaijani universities.
According to statistics, this year applicants scored fewer points than last year. According to education expert Kamran Asadov, this year 46814 applicants scored 150 or more points, having received the right to choose a specialty.
This year, on admission exams in the first group of specialties, only one applicant scored 690-700 points, although last year there were 56 of them.
This year 1480 applicants scored 680 - 689 points, and last year 52 entrants had such indicators.
This year 46 applicants managed to score 660 - 669 points, in the past there were 86.
The reasons for the deterioration is the new exam model. So, this year the exams were held in two stages - the final exam at school, as well as the entrance to the university. Then their results were summarized.
In addition, this year applicants not only answered the tests: they were presented with questions requiring written answers. -21B-
