FC Gabala Plays 1:1 Guest Game with Lille
On Thursday night in the first (guest) game of the third qualifying round of the Europa League FC Gabala played in a draw 1:1 with the French Lille.
The match began with the attacks of the guests and at the 12th minute, a defender of Gabala Vitaly Vernidub opened the scoring, successfully closing the pass from the flank.
Discouraged with the bold beginning by Gabala, the home team managed to seize the initiative only in the second half of the first time. However, they faced two sharp counterattacks by Gabala and at the last moment the goalkeeper saved Lille.
The second half of the match began with the attacks of the home team and already at the 47th minute Ryan Mendes equalized the score.
After that, Lille desperately tried to snatch the victory, but Gabala managed to defend their goal.
The return match will be held in Baku on August 4.
