The fire that emerged on Aug. 17 at the sea gas field Bulla-Deniz still continues.
As stated by the state oil company SOCAR, “work to extinguish the fire continues." This involves 11 ships owned by SOCAR, as well as resources from MOE.
Fire crews were able to climb onto the offshore platform and remove a portion of the equipment.
Firefighter ships the Whirlwind, Caspian Support and Topaz Legend are intensely pouring water on the well, allowing the crane ship Shirvan to work on the platform.
Recall that the fire occurred during the drilling of an exploration well at a depth of 6 km. and broke free from the well at high pressure, when the gas ignited. Workers on the platform were evacuated.
Bulla-Deniz is located in the southern part of the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, 80 km from Baku. -16D-
