Last night another woman injured in the fire in a 16-storey building at Azadlig Avenue died at the toxicological department of the Clinical Medical Centre N 1. She is 68-year-old Elmira Yahyayeva, said the Ministry of Health. Thus, the number of victims of the fire reached up to 15.
In hospitals there are 12 people, whose condition is characterized as "stable," says the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, steps are being taken to ensure the fire victims with temporary housing.
At the first meeting of the state commission to investigate the causes of the fire and to eliminate the consequences its chairman, Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov said that for the temporary placement of the fire victims 56 sites were identified.
In turn, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Salim Muslimov told reporters that the fire victims are given 10 cottages in the resort of the State Border Service, 60 rooms in the resort of Labor and Social Protection in Bilgah, as well as a recreation center of the Confederation of Trade Unions in Buzovna.
During their stay at these facilities the fire victims will be provided with food and clothing until the restoration of their housing, the minister said.
This morning, the fire place was visited by President Ilham Aliyev.
Since yesterday in Baku began the dismantling of the flammable facing materials from buildings. In particular, the foam plastic lining was removed from the houses in the settlement Bakikhanov of the Sabunchu district and in the Khatai and Binagadi districts.
Officials now give generous comments regarding measures to assist the victims and families of the killed. However, questions remain - who is responsible for allowing Global Construction Company’s uncontrolled monopoly in facing buildings, and where the Emergencies Ministry, the State Standards Committee and the Executive Power of Baku looked, when residential buildings were being wrapped in the deadly shell. -06D--

For Elshan Hasanov, a 46-year-old man with severe hearing impairment (fourth-degree), what should have been a straightforward process to receive government-provided hearing aids has turned into a bureaucratic nightmare involving three healthcare agencies. As a result, Hasanov is forced to pay nearly 60 manats ($35) several times a year for what used to be a free service—a cost he says is untenable on his modest disability pension.
