Five people killed in Gobustan road accident
Baku/22.05.23/Turan: Five people were killed in a serious car accident in the Gobustan region of Azerbaijan today.
The Interior Ministry reports that the accident happened in the morning on 22 May in Jangi settlement of Gobustan region.
The car "KIA" lost control and overturned.
As a result of the accident the following people died: Magerram Samedov born 1990, Amrah Nuriyev born 2000, Shabnem Samedova born 1997, Samaya Talybova born 2006 and a young child.
Another passenger Sholya Nurieva born in 1972 was hospitalized in a Baku hospital.
The incident is under investigation and a criminal case has been initiated under an appropriate Article of the Criminal Code.
It ought to be noted that Jangi settlement (58 km west of Baku) is located on Baku-Shamakhi highway. Here, there is a steep serpentine road, which is especially dangerous when speeding or overtaking. -05В06-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
