Forest Fires in North of Azerbaijan
Baku / 29.07.18 / Turan: Natural fires occurred in the north of Azerbaijan in a number of places.
On July 28, fire enveloped desert territories near forests near the Isnov and Gonagkend villages of the Guba district, as well as near the villages of Arzikush and Kekhnya Gushchu in the Siyazan district in the north of Azerbaijan.
On the territory of the Guba region fires were localized on Saturday. On Sunday, it was possible to localize fires in the Siyazan district. Two Mi-17 helicopters and an amphibious aircraft BE-200 ES were also used for extinguishing the fires.
However, at the same time on July 29, fires began in the desert territories near the forests near the villages Galaalty and Chiraggala of the Siyazan district, the Emergencies Ministry reported.
Because of the windy weather, the flames spread to the surrounding woodlands on hard-to-reach mountain territories.
A Mi-17 helicopter is involved in extinguishing the fire. Measures are continuing to extinguish the fire.
According to the Ministry of Ecology, the fire broke out in the Altiagaj national park on Saturday.
In addition, on July 27 there were fires in forest areas near the village Gharlar of the Agsu district in the east of Azerbaijan and in the Hyrkan national park in the Astara region in the south of the country. In both places the spread of fire was stopped.
Fires have arisen as a result of the established hot and arid weather. -06D--
