Former chief of Radio "Azadlig" is not allowed to leave the country
The former coordinator of the Baku bureau of Radio "Azadlig" Babek Bakir was not allowed to leave the territory of Azerbaijan, he said on February 23 in Baku airport when he wanted to fly to Georgia. "I flew to Tbilisi for treatment. At the border control I was told that the Prosecutor General Office has banned my leaving the country," said Babak Bakir. Previously, he was summoned for questioning by the prosecutor as a witness in the case of journalist Khadija Ismailova (incitement to suicide) as well as in the case against a large group of NGOs. "In both cases, I was told nothing regarding the ban on leaving the country," said the journalist.
