Former head of department of Slavic University may be sentenced to 8 years
Baku/21.08.23/Turan: Durdana Aliyeva, former head of the department of correspondence education of Baku Slavic University, may be imprisoned for 8 years. On August 21, the state prosecutor asked for such a punishment in the Baku Court for Serious Crimes at the trial of bribery at this University.
The prosecutor asked the court to find D.Alieva guilty on charges, sentence her to 8 years of imprisonment and arrest her in the courtroom.
Add that the defense asked for time to prepare for the speech, and the trial was postponed until September 8.
That said, Durdana Aliyeva denies the accusations, and claims that she gave the money received from the students to the then rector of the University, Nurlana Aliyeva. However, the latter in turn, accuses D. Aliyeva.
According to the indictment, D.Aliyeva received 226, 000 manats from 123 students in 2018-2021. She is charged with Articles 179.3.2 (embezzlement on a particularly large scale), 178.3.2 (when committing fraud with causing damage on a large scale), 311.1 (taking a bribe) of the Criminal Code of AR. -0-
