Gabala in Play-off of Europa League
FC Gabala on August 4 won in Baku French Lille with the score 1: 0 and joined the playoffs of the Europa League.
A week ago in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Europa League in Lille there was a draw 1: 1.
On Thursday, at the Baku stadium Bakcell Arena the only goal was scored at the 34th minute by the Croatian footballer of Gabala Philip Ozobić sending the ball into the net with a great blow from 25 meters away.
By the end of the first half, Gabala created several more chances to score a goal, but could not increase the score.
In the second half Lille more actively attacked. However, the guests did not have many acute scoring chances. The new star of Portuguese football, Eder, who was the hero of the Euro 2016 final game and scored the winning goal to the French team in extra time, was not very noticeable as Gabala players managed to violate his efforts.
At the 87th minute, the substitute Asif Mammadov almost doubled the score. Beating the defender in a counterattack, he got face to face with the goalkeeper of Lille. But the Nigerian goalkeeper for Lille, Vincent Enyama played excellently.
However, the score 1: 0, with which the game ended, well suited Gabala, which joined the playoffs of the Europa League for the second year in a row.
Recall that in the playoffs of the Europa League there is also Karabakh from Agdam, Azerbaijan.
Both Azerbaijani clubs successfully overcame the stage of the playoffs last year and joined the group stage of the Europa League. -06D--
