Great Patriotic War Veterans to Receive Financial Assistance by Victory Day
By the Victory Day veterans of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) in Azerbaijan will receive a one-time financial assistance in the amount of AZN 1,000 (about $ 660). The order was signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
A lump sum in the amount of 500 manat (about $ 330) will also be paid to the widows of those killed in the war or deceased later, people awarded for work on the home front, in special units of employees performing missions for the Army and Navy, people awarded medals and badges for the defense of Leningrad, as well as participants of the blockade of Leningrad.
For these purposes from the reserve fund of the President of Azerbaijan 9 million AZN has been allocated (about 6 million USD).
In 2015, the total number of veterans and other categories of participants of the Great Patriotic War, who received one-time financial assistance, was correspondingly 1,342 and 17,539. -06D--
