Hacker attack on the Basta portal
Baku/23.04.20/Turan: The Basta information portal was once again subjected to a hacker attack, its editor Mustafa Hajibayli told Turan on Thursday.
“The attack was yesterday, the site was destroyed,” he said.
The editor recalled that on January 31 - nine days before the parliamentary elections, the results of hacker attacks captured the Basta website, its facebook page, as well as the pages of the Musavat party and its chairman.
“With great efforts, the site and the page were restored, but yesterday, the site was again destroyed. We believe that this was done by order of the authorities,” Hajibeyli said.
The site Bastainfo.com was blocked along with other publications on the initiative of the Prosecutor General after publications about the attempt on the former head of Ganja Elmar Veliyev and the energy blackout in July 2018.
After that, the site operates under the domain basta2.com.
The website editor was prosecuted for these publications. On February 23, 2019, the Baku Serious Crimes Court recognized Hajibeyli guilty under articles: 309 (abuse of power), 313 (official forgery) and 281 (appeals against the state) of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 5.5 years in prison with a 2-year sentence trial period.
