Health Ministry urged to vaccinate "sensitive" population groups against measles
Baku/10.01.24/Turan: Owing to the spread of measles cases, the Azerbaijani Health Ministry has called on "sensitive" population groups to be vaccinated. Analysis of the epidemiological situation shows that, apart from young children, cases of infection are also observed among children over 10 years old and adults, the Ministry said.
At the same time, nearly all the infected are people who have never been vaccinated against measles and have never had the disease. In consideration of the importance of vaccinating children under 10 years of age, as well as the importance of vaccinating susceptible populations aged 11-40, the Health Ministry has purchased vaccines and organised their delivery to the country.
Given that the vaccination is the most effective way to protect against measles, the Ministry reiterated its call to the vulnerable population to be vaccinated.
With that said, the citizens can apply to medical institutions providing outpatient and polyclinic care for children and adults at their place of residence. -16B06-
