A human rights defender Intigam Aliyev who is kept in the Baku jail N1 is suffering from health problems, wrote on his page on Facebook the lawyer Javad Javadov.
Today, he was in the detention center to meet with Aliyev, but Aliyev could not come due to acute back pain. "It is very disturbing information, and I am preparing appealto the prison service," wrote Javadov.
It was impossible to receive comment about Aliyev’s health in the Chief Medical Department of the Ministry of Justice.
Aliyev was arrested on August 8, 2014. The Baku Serious Crimes Court on April 22 sentenced him to 7.5 years in prison on charges of economic crimes. He denied the allegations, and called them politically motivated. Amnesty International recognized Aliyev "prisoner of conscience." -03D-
