One person was killed and six were injured in the auto accident on the highway near the village of Gobu in the Absheron district at 10 a.m. on December 17. The bus route 153, en route to Baku, ran off the road and overturned.
One passenger died on the way to hospital, and six people were taken to the city clinical center. According to preliminary information, the cause of the accident was ice that covered the road.
According to the Main State Traffic Police, despite the bad weather, the country's highways are open to traffic. In just the past day there were registered 10 accidents, which killed three and injured 12 people.
Note that the most intense precipitation in the form of snow was in the northern and north-western area.

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
