Ilham Aliyev visits the offshore platform "West Chirag"
On July 23, President Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the work done on the upper modules of the platform "West Chirag", the part of the oil project, "Chirag", the website of Ilham Aliyev.
Regional President of BP in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, Gordon Birrell said that a development plan worth $ 6 billion on the oil project "Chirag" which began in March 2010, will help stabilize the oil production in the block of fields "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli", and bring the oil recovery reservoir to the maximum.
Approximately $ 4 billion of the total cost of the project is the cost of system construction and pre-drilling program. The remaining amount will be used for drilling wells. This building was built by local experts.
"West Chirag" is the eighth world-class offshore platform, built and operated by BP to develop two fields "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli."
The design capacity of the platform is 25,000 tons of oil and 6.5 million cubic meters of gas per day.
The support block "West Chirag" is the heaviest buildings constructed in the Caspian region. Its total weight is 18,200 tons and height - 185 meters. -02D-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
