Information and communication indices in Azerbaijan improve
Baku/06.09.13/Turan : The report of the World Economic Forum, reads that the indices of Azerbaijan in the field of information and communication technologies have improved significantly.
For example, on index of global competitiveness the country ranks 39th among 148 countries of the world. In comparison with last year's rating , ( 46th among 144 countries ) Azerbaijan rose by 7 degrees.
In general, Azerbaijan is the leader among the CIS countries in this regard.
According to information posted on the website of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology , the number of mobile broadband internet in Azerbaijan increased by 54.8 %. Currently, for every 100 people there are 33.3 users of mobile broadband technology. According to this indicator, Azerbaijan ranks the 50th of 148 countries.
For every internet user there is to 40,1 kbit / s traffic, and on this indicator Azerbaijan rose from 61st to 45th.
On the number of Internet users the country moved to 59th place, improving the position of 8.4 %. In Azerbaijan, for every 100 people there are 107.5 mobile phones, and on this indicator, the country ranks 78th.
In the area of fixed-line indicators the indices of Azerbaijan rose by 1.6 %. According to this indicator, the country ranks 67th. Currently, 18.4% of every 100 people are users of fixed telephony. -03D04-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
