Interior Ministry on fight against drug trafficking in Sabunchi district
Baku/15.05.23/Turan: Over the past month and a half, 92 people have been detained in the Sabunchi district of the capital on suspicion of illegal drug trafficking and firearms, the Interior Ministry reports.
The report says that from April 1 to May 15, operations were carried out in the settlements of Bakikhanov, Balakhany, Ramana, Zabrat, Bilgya, Pirshagi, Kurdakhany, Mashtaga, etc. following which 91 people were detained.
About 8 kg of marijuana, heroin and methamphetamine were seized. Some of these drugs came from Iran. Since the beginning of the year, 43 kg of various drugs have been seized in the Sabunchi district.
During another operation, also in the Sabunchi district, a previously convicted resident of the Mashtaga settlement, Rafig Bagirov, was detained. A Walther brand pistol and ammunition were found and seized from him. All the facts are under investigation. -05D06-
