Investigation into Elgiz Gahraman Case Completed
The preliminary investigation on the case of the NIDA youth activist Elgiz Gahraman has been completed, Turan was told by his lawyer Fariz Namazly.
According to him, next week, the activist and the lawyer will begin to familiarize with the case materials. After that, the criminal case will be sent to the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.
Gahraman maintains good spirits, reading books in the prison, and is even engaged in drawing up test on logic, said Namazly.
The activist was arrested on August 12 on charges of drug trafficking on a large scale. According to the investigators, he was found 3,315 grams of heroin. However NIDA is convinced that the activist is persecuted for political reasons.
Human rights activists have recognized him a political prisoner. -06B-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
