Iranian Azerbaijanis demand the release of writers
National Awakening Movement of Southern Azerbaijan has condemned the arrest of two young Azerbaijani writers in Iran.
According to the statement of the organization, the arrest is an example of Iran's hostility against the independent Azerbaijan, as well as illegal and anti-human act against young writers.
The authors of the statement believe that the charge of espionage has a purpose to condemn them for long periods, and require their immediate release.
On June 29 the writers Farid Hussein and Shahryar Hajizade went to the poetry festival in Tehran, and were arrested on May 2 upon their arrival in Tabriz. -05D04-
