The Baku Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial on the journalist Rasim Aliyev’s murder. In the dock are Elshan Ismayilov, Jamal Mammadov, Arif Aliyev, Kanan Madatov and Samir Mustafayev.
During the meeting, the victim’s mother, Teyfura Aliyeva rejected the allegations of the accused Elshan Ismayilov, who said the cause of the attack on the journalist had become the foul language he used.
Rasim, as a journalist, expressed his indignation with the obscene gesture by Javid Huseynov and said he would not want such a person to represent his country in the international arena.
According to Aliyeva, her son was the victim of an insidious plan, as he was invited to the meeting by fraud. Several strong blows on Rasim damaged his internal organs and he could die on the spot. After the severe beating he had to be hospitalized.
For the death of Rasim responsible are those who beat him as well and the doctors, his mother said, accusing the defendants of insincerity and attempts to put the blame on Rasim and the doctors.
Teyfura Aliyeva believes that the attack on her son was organized by the soccer player Javid Huseynov, who has pleaded not guilty. Recall that the criminal case against Huseynov has been separated, and he is charged only with not reporting about the previously known crime.
The accused again refused of the final word, referring to the fact that they are not ready. Their lawyers, using the right to reply, announced that Rasim Aliyev died through the fault of the doctors. The trial will continue on 17 March.
