On the occasion of 139 anniversary of the Azerbaijani press, which is celebrated annually on 22 July, the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan, eight journalists were awarded diplomas named Hasan bey Zardabi for their contribution to the development of print and electronic media. Chairman of the Union of Journalists, Elchin Shikhlinski, speaking at a ceremony held in the Assembly Hall of the editors of "Khalq newspaper", noted the contribution of each of the awarded.
The laureates of the award 2014are:
1. Arifa Kazimova. Radio Reporter of "Azadlig" (for materials on international issues)
2. Bekir Mammadov. Corresponding site "Media Forum" (for articles on social and economic issues)
3. Aynur Elgyunesh. Correspondent of the newspaper "Azadlig" (for articles on social and economic issues)
4. Baba Mirzahanly. Editor of "Sheki" (for the development of the regional press)
5.Tarana Mamedova. AzTV (copyrights for documentaries)
6.Hasan Hasanov. Chief Editor of "Khalq newspaper" (for coverage of the social and political life of the country)
7. Famil Ismailov. BBC (for contribution to the media)
8. Najib Bagirzade. Independent journalist (for journalistic articles.)

This year, 22,000 foreign language teachers and an additional 4,000 teachers who were unable to pass certification last year will be involved in the certification process, the director of the state agency for preschool and general education, Eshgi Bagirov, announced on February 12. According to him, of the 65,000 teachers involved in the certification, 55,000 passed successfully and received salary supplements. At the same time, employment contracts were terminated with 5,000 teachers who did not pass the certification.
