Journalists’s relatives are convicted
Today the Serious Crimes Court sentenced cousins of Ganimat Zahidov, the editor of the opposition newspaper "Azadlig", and the head of the TV program "Azerbaijan Saat". The judge Eldar Mikyailov condemned Rufat Zahidov and Rovshan Zahidov to imprisonment for six years each. According to Turan's lawyer Behruz Bayramov, the judge found them guilty of drug possession, the verdict will be appealed. Rufat and Rovshan Zahidov was arrested in July last year. They work and live in the city of Shamakhi. The real reason for their arrest was the opposition journalistic activity of Ganimat Zahidov, who for several years has been in exile in France, where he founded the broadcasting-satellite program "Azerbaijan Saat» .- 16D-
