On Thursday the Garadagh District Court arrested an activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), Karabakh war veteran Ismail Rasulov for 30 days. He was found guilty under Article 535.1 (not subordination police) of the Code of Administrative Offences. The son of the arrested Elshan Rasulov told Turan that yesterday his father was called to the 38th branch of the Garadagh District Office, and then was detained. The family was not explained the reasons for detention of I.Rasulov. Only after a court decision I.Rasulov called his family, and told that he was arrested, and asked them to bring clothes and medicines for diabetes. I.Rasulov is also head of the Garadagh district office of the Public Association of veterans of the Karabakh war. The PFPA believe that the activist is persecuted for political reasons, for the activity in social networks, and harsh criticism of the authorities. On his Facebook page the PFPA leader Ali Kerimli said he was convinced that an invalid of the second group of Karabakh war was arrested by slanderous accusations. It is not clear why he was slandered, writes Kerimli. "However, Ismail-bey, as a veteran of the Karabakh war has always protected his rights. Despite he was been on the waiting list for apartments for 22 years, he still does not have a shelter, and lives in a rented apartment. Ismail-bey wrote on facebook about the injustice and tyranny in a society, and his intolerant social status. But the government, instead of solving the social problems of citizens chose the path of repression. That is their true love for Karabakh, to the veterans of Karabakh," said Kerimli. -16D-
