Kurdamir Gas Control Engineer Accused of Extortion
The Anti -Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General will start a criminal investigation into abuses of power by the chief engineer of the Kurdamir gas control office, Orkhan Mammadov.
He is accused of embezzling funds collected from subscribers for the used gas totaling 1,400 manat.
He also took AZN 400 from a resident of Kurdamir, Gulahmed Ovchiev, promising him a job.
In addition, he took AZN 300 from the chief of the service of the designated Office, Yavar Abbasov, and extorted AZN 1,000 from the district inspector, Telman Eyubov, threatening to fire him.
Mammadov’s criminal case falls under Articles 308.1 (abuse of power) and 178.2.3 (seizure of another's property by fraud) of the Criminal Code. -03D06-
