Lawsuit is filed against former head of the Production Enterprise �Bakliftremont�
Baku / 05.10.18 / Turan: Gudrat Shukurov, the former head of the "Bakliftremont" production association, has been prosecuted for misappropriation and abuse of office, reported to the media the head of the press service of the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Eldar Sultanov. Shukurov became involved in a corruption scandal in the United States around United Technologies Corporation. Its subsidiary, OTIS Elevator Co., according to American sources, was convicted of giving a bribe to officials of the "Bakliftremont" to obtain a contract for the installation of elevators in buildings in Baku. According to Sultanov, the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office against Gudrat Shukurov filed a lawsuit under the Articles: 179.4 (large-scale misappropriation and embezzlement) and 308.2 (abuse of office) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code. Audit is ongoing in the "Bakliftremont." Eldar Sultanov also denied reports that Shukurov left Azerbaijan. -06D--
