Lawyers ask to change the measure of restraint for Rauf Mirkadirov
Baku/27.05.14/Turan : Lawyers of the journalist Rauf Mirkadirov appealed to the Attorney General with a request to change the measure of restraint , replacing arrest on his own recognizance.
Journalist Rafiq Mirkadirov’s mother appealed to President Ilham Aliyev and the head of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, with request to release her son. The mother's request is explained by her old age, and the recent passing of her husband.
Today Sabail court considers the appeal of the journalist to change the preventive measure.
A columnist for "The Mirror" Rauf Mirkadyrov lived in recent years in Turkey. On April 19 he was deported in Baku, and immediately arrested on charges of spying for Armenia. The authorities began to pursue human rights activist Leyla Yunus , accusing her of cooperation with the Armenians. -16D-
