List of Holidays in Azerbaijan in 2018
Baku / 04.01.18 / Turan: In 2018, in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, holiday non-working days in connection with the Novruz holiday will be on March 20-24.
Since March 24 is on Saturday, the day off is postponed to the next business day on March 26. Thus, after two days off on March 17-18, there will be one working day - March 19, followed by seven non-working days.
In March, there will be one more holiday non-working day - Women's Day March 8.
Two festive non-working days will be in May: May 9 - Victory Day and May 28 Republic Day. The latter will fall this year on Monday and thus there will be three non-working days in a row.
The Ramadan holiday will be celebrated in 2018 on June 15-16. Since June 15 is also the National Salvation Day, and June 16 is Saturday, the non-working days on the occasion of the holiday are to be postponed to the next two working days according to the labor legislation.
On August 22-23 Azerbaijan will celebrate Kurban Bayram (Holy Sacrifice Holiday).
November 9 will be celebrated as Flag Day.
The last day of the year - December 31 will be celebrated as the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis. -06D

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
