Holding the 15th European Summer Olympic Youth Festival in Baku, water problems in Khirdalan, the situation with the Internet are the topics of today's media.
The "Azerbaijan" newspaper writes about the 15th European Summer Olympic Youth Festival, which will be held in Baku on July 21-28. More than 3,600 athletes from 48 European countries will take part in the competition. Over 35 sets of medals, athletes will compete in 10 sports in 12 arenas. Over 2500 volunteers are involved in the competition. The idea of holding this event appeared in 1990, and already in 1991 for the first time the Festival was held in Brussels.
The site "Yeni Sabah.az" writes about the water problem in Khirdalan, which has been lasting for several days, and the relevant authorities do not respond to the problem, despite the residents' discontent. Expert Rovshan Agayev, himself a resident of Khirdalan, harshly criticized the activities of Azersu, which behaves so without providing quality services, due to the lack of competition and the presence of monopolism.
The site "Hürriyyət.org" writes about the situation with Internet. President of the Internet Forum, Osman Gunduz, notes that the provider "DeltaTelecom" reduces by 70% the wholesale price of Internet services for providers. Usually, after this, prices are also reduced for Internet users, while the speed of the Internet is increasing. However, this time it did not happen. Gunduz claims that the problem is in the Ministry of Communications. That is, the state providers controlling 50% of the market refuse to do this. Gunduz also touched on the issue of blocked sites, which are many, but the exact list is unknown. The Ministry of Communications had to prepare a resource indicating the list of blocked sites, and then publish it, but this was not done. -0-
