Mediapark is alternative network of selling newspapers
Presentation of the site mediapark.az was held Thursday at the International Media Center. The new site will deal in online selling newspapers and magazines.
Editor of "Aina", "Zerkalo" Elchin Shikhli, opening the presentation, said that the purpose of the event is the organization of the sale of several newspapers and magazines.
The new service will be cheaper. Thus , in kiosks newspapers are sold at 40 gepik, the price for the online format will be 19 gepik, said Shikhli.
Chairman of the journalistic association "Yeni Nesil" Arif Aliyev told about the benefits and importance of the site "mediapark.az".
Readers will be able to buy at lower price the desired publication and download to their computer, or read it online. For online purchase of newspapers or magazines credit card is required. All payments will be made through AzeriCard.
The organizers of today's presentations were the journalist union "Yeni Nesil", Association of Journalists of Azerbaijan, the publishing house "Altun-kitab", and the company ERA-C.
Currently the present system for the sale of newspapers is limited to state-owned company "Gasid" which is about closing. Moreover, newspapers organize themselves street selling. Another serious problem is a fundraiser for the sale of the newspaper. Thus, "Gasid" for months does not pay money for the sold newspapers.-0-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers.
