Meeting of Civil Society Activists with Representatives of EU Mission
Baku / 09/18/19 / Turan: On Tuesday, a meeting of a group of civil society activists of Azerbaijan with the head of the Department of Politics, Economics, Press and Information of the EU Delegation in Baku Denis Daniilidis took place.
A number of other EU mission staff also took part in the meeting, human rights activist Ogtay Gyulaliyev told Turan.
According to him, during the conversation the situation with human rights in Azerbaijan, the problems of political prisoners, illegal arrests, and torture were discussed.
The European diplomats were also informed about the violation of rights and torture of the defendants in the Nardaran Case, the Ganja Case and the Terter Case.
The subject of discussion was also the case of the journalist Afgan Mukhtarly, who was kidnapped in Georgia and secretly transferred to Azerbaijan, where he was sentenced to 6 years in prison two years ago.
According to the activist, representatives of the EU mission were handed over documents related to these cases.
As a result of the conversation, an agreement was reached to continue meetings and cooperation in this direction, Gyulaliyev concluded. -06D-
