MIA Detains Eight People for Illegal Currency Trading
The Ministry of Interior reported the arrest of seven people in connection with their illegal foreign exchange trading.
A resident of the Masally district Elnur Akbarov and residents of Baku Farhad Maharramov and Vusal Mikayilov were detained in a café in the Khatai district of Baku, while attempting to illegally turn USD 52,000 into AZN 96,200.
Farmail Hajiyev, Khagani Albandaev, Azer Mammadov, and Isfendiyar Nagiyev were detained for illegal currency trading in a shopping center located in Quarter 32 in Sumgait. Another resident of Sumgait Ismail Balayev was also detained during the police actions.
