Ministers reported on their readiness for Islamic Games
Baku / 21.04.17 / Turan: On 21 April under the chairmanship of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, a meeting of the organizing committee for the Fourth Games of Islamic Solidarity to be held in Baku on May 12-22. Aliyeva called Azerbaijan "an inseparable part of the Muslim world", which builds relations with all Muslim countries on the basis of friendship, brotherhood, mutual respect. According to her, Islamic Games will contribute to strengthening cooperation between Muslim countries.
The Game will bring 3000 athletes from 57 countries. There have not been such large-scale Islamic Games so far. Competitions will be held in 16 arenas in 23 sports and they will be watched by one billion viewers in more than 50 countries, she said. At the same time, she drew attention to the need to pay special attention to security issues, the use of ICT opportunities, compilation of tourist routes and cultural programs, and the provision of comprehensive health care.
