Ministry of Environment on Quality of Water on Sea Beaches
Baku / 28.06.19 / Turan: The Caspian Environmental Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Environment announced the results of the beaches monitoring conducted on June 24-27.
According to Arastun Hasanov, the director of the Department, experts recognized the following beaches on Absheron as suitable for use: Bilgah, Nardaran, Buzovna, Mardakan, Shuvelan, Novkhani, Zagulba and Pirshagi.
The beaches in Turkan, Hovsan, Shikhovo, Sahil and Sumgayit were found to be contaminated from a microbiological point of view and not suitable for swimming.
The monitoring was also conducted in the northern and southern coast of the Caspian Sea. On the beaches of Yalama, Seydlyar and Istisu (Mugtadyr), the quality of sea water was recognized as suitable for swimming. At Nabran seashore, experts found the water quality unsatisfactory.
Environmentalists also gave a positive opinion on the water quality in the Lankaran and Astara regions. -05D-
