MNS Chief and Head of the International Bank Intermarried
On November 3 the Palace Buta hosted the wedding of the son of the National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov and the daughter of the head of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Jahangir Hajiyev.
Turan learned from reliable sources about 600 guests were invited to the wedding, including the entire leadership. Of the members of the government only one minister was absent.
A significant number of the guests were young people, who danced, engaging all the ministers in traditional dances.
The wedding was conducted by Abbas Bagirov, Eyyub Yagubov, the Russian singer Valery Meladze, the Georgian Chamber Choir, as well as a jazz rock ensemble from Germany, which began performing around midnight.
About 2:00 a.m. a firework display was held, which was visible several kilometers away. -02B-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
