Monument to AN-2 aircraft erected in Azerbaijan
Baku/18.08.21/Turan: The opening ceremony of the monument to the border guards and the AN-2 aircraft, who died in the 44-day war last year, was held at the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
These machines of the rural aviation of the former USSR were transferred to the balance of the border troops of Azerbaijan. They were then converted into remote-controlled aircraft for simultaneous use with reconnaissance and attack drones.
An-2 was launched into the air in order to detect the air defense of the occupation forces of Armenia on the territory of Azerbaijan. After the Armenian air defense was activated and opened fire on the planes, the Azerbaijani attack drones entered the action, destroying the enemy’s air defense systems.
As a result of the use of the “Harop” and “Raven” unmanned aerial vehicles by the State Border Service, 290 targets and a large number of enemy personnel were neutralized.
At that time, the Armenian military department reported about shooting down Azerbaijani warplanes, not suspecting that they were targeting the Soviet "maize", as the peasants called the AN-2. –0--

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
