"Musavat" accuses the authorities of repression in the upcoming elections
"Musavat" party announced today about the arrest of Saday Hajili, a member of the Majlis of the opposition organization in the city of Shirvan. He was arrested and taken in the morning to the Shirvan city police.
Without the submission of any justification, without informing relatives about the detention, without providing a lawyer Hajili was found guilty of not subordinating the police, and was sentenced to 20 days of administrative arrest.
Hajili is represented in the Board of the Shirvan city organization of "Musavat", and is considered an expert on elections.
"Musavat" regarded the arrest of Hajili on trumped-up charges as the start of a campaign of repression of the authorities on the eve of the parliamentary elections to be held in early November.
"Musavat" demanded that the authorities put an end to a campaign of pressure and harassment of the opposition, and release Hajili and all political prisoners. -05D-
