Nasibov is recognized a victim, but not serious

Human rights activist and journalist  Ilgar Nasibov,  who was brutally beaten by a group of persons on August 21 in  Nakhchivan, was invited today  to the police department of the city of Nakhchivan, and was  recognized as a victim. Within 2 hours, he testified about the incident. "I was told that I  was recognized as a victim, and a lawsuit was filed on the fact of beating under  the Article 127.1 of the Criminal Code. This Article  involves slight  bodily harm," told  Nasibov.

This attitude of the investigation and the questions asked give the impression that the investigation is not going to seriously investigate the incident. In particular, the investigation refuses to admit that there were   many attackers.  " They wanted to that a group of people  that beat me  in the office was a hallucination,"  said a human rights activist.

He said  that Farid who was accused of his beating stood clutching his head and cried, saying, "What have they done to you, then  they will  blame me  for all!"

Nasibov also demanded an explanation for the official announcement of  the Nakhchivan Interior Ministry that he was allegedly drunk, and  that the incident - is the result of a fight between two drunks. "No expertise, no doctors, no investigation has  fixed my drunkenness. This fact, as well as a ridiculous Article on which a lawsuit was filed mean that I should not wait for objective investigation,"- said a human rights activist.

Nasibov was beaten by several people in the office of the Resource Center for Democracy in Nakchihvane. His ribs, nose, cheekbones were broken, and inflicted multiple injuries. Doctors have put about ten stitches on his face, and noted  severe concussion. He eye is also  damaged, and he cannot see.-02В-
