Neftchi after Karabakh joins the playoffs of the Europa League

FC Neftchi from Baku on Thursday, winning the match with Chihura Tbilisi with the score 3:2 in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, joined the playoff competition.

 In the first match last week in Baku a goalless draw was recorded.

 A Cameroonian footballer of Neftchi, Ernest Nfor committed a hat-rick.

 Neftchi opened the scoring at the 16th minute and then doubled it. Later the ground owners improved the scoreline to a minimum. At the 38th minute after a pass from Nfor Araz Abdullayev scored the third goal with his head.

 At the beginning of the second half Gabedava scoring his second goal, again reduced the advantage of Neftchi to a minimum.

 ntil the end of the game the score remained unchanged.

 In addition to Neftchi the right to play in the playoffs of the Europa League was received by another Azerbaijani club - Karabakh Agdam.

As the champion of Azerbaijan, Karabakh began to participate in the tournament of the Champions League in the second qualifying round, in which it won two games with the Maltese Valletta 4: 0 and 1: 0.

In the next step, Karabakh won the Austrian Champion Salzburg in Baku with a score of 2: 1, but lost 0: 2 in the guest game.

Nevertheless, according to the rules of the competition, Karabakh was allowed to play in the playoffs of the Europa League.

Thus, for the first time in the history of football in Azerbaijan two teams from the country joined the playoffs of the Europa League. -06D-
