Number of victims of nightclub gas explosion rose to two
Baku/07.04.22/Turan: The death toll in the April 3 gas explosion at a nightclub in Baku has risen to two.
Fergana Eynullayeva, born in 1999, died on April 6 in hospital, TƏBİB (United Territorial Medical Unit) reported. The agency stressed that she was one of the seriously injured patients admitted to the intensive care unit with third-degree burn injuries, she had 60-62 percent body burns.
Twelve people are currently being treated at medical facilities. At that, nine of them are in TəBİB-subordinated health facilities, including four in intensive care units. Health condition of one of those placed in intensive care units remains critical.
As a result of a gas explosion in a nightclub in Baku 43-year-old club employee Maya Akhundova was killed, 37 other people were injured.
On the fact of the incident a criminal case was opened for violation of fire safety standards and negligence. Three people were arrested, including a state fire department inspector. -06В-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
