Immediately following his injury, an official representative of the industrial plant, a technical security department, and a chief engineer took him to the hospital Topchibashev, where Agayev was operated on. After his operation, Agayev was released to go home, and nothing was reported to the law enforcement agencies of the injury. Moreover, Agayev was threatened, and even was taken a hostage for a month, sucluded in a house where he was given only bread and water. However, Agayev managed to escape from forced captivity.
After that, the founder of the factory "Azbentonit" Aydin Mamedov and Chief Executive Yasin Khalilov, began to threaten to kill his mother if Agayev raised issues again.
The plant did not establish a pension for him, only once he was paid 700 manat.

Iftikhar Agayev began to complain his issue to the Transport Minister Ziya Mamedov, who owns the plant “Azbentonit” and to the Ombudswoman, Elmira Suleymanova. However, Ziya Mamedov said that he did not have any relation to it, and the Ombudswoman said that she could not intervene.
Agayev sent a telegram to Mehriban Aliyeva, who acknowledgd him 2010 with the participation of Ziya Mamedov and Elmira Suleymanova. "She called and told me not to be afraid, and tell everything how it happened. Mehriban Aliyeva told Ziya Mamedov, to replace me to work. She also said that “Ziya Mammadov will lose his job if something happens to me," said Iftikhar Agayev. According to him, he was restored to the job, but 18 months later he was expelled.
According to the lawyer Tagi Huseynov, there were a lot of violations and crimes against his client. He also recalled the order of the Cabinet in 2000, according to which all cases of occupational injuries and accidents must be registered. The management of the plant not only concealed the fact of injury, but also took hostage its staff.
