Organizers of European Games to Pay Costs of British Team?
British Olympic Association (BOA) has recognized that the participation of athletes of this country in the European Games in Baku in June 2015 is paid by the organizers. This was written by The Guardian.
BOA will send 160 athletes to Azerbaijan, three times more than to Sochi. The head of the British team, Mark England said that the cost of the team is fully covered by the organizers.
"We have received grants from the Organizing Committee of the Games. We hope that the total cost for us will be zero," he said.
Meanwhile, an alliance of human rights organizations appealed to the IOC to discuss the human rights situation in the countries that host the game, writes The Guardian and notes that in Azerbaijan, there are about 100 political prisoners.
England himself refused to comment on the situation of human rights violations in Azerbaijan, saying that it was not within its competence.
The Organizing Committee of the European Games in Baku has not commented on the publication of The Guardian. -16D-
