Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan claimed pressures on activists in Sumqayit
Baku/20.02.22/Turan: About 20 activists of the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) were summoned or forcibly taken to the Sumgayit police headquarters. There they were subjected to pressures and threats because of their political affiliation. This is stated in a report of the PPFA of February 19.
Note that the pressures on the activists took place after the online meeting of the PPFA city organization on February 13.
After detaining one of the activists, the police forced him to open his phone code, following which they identified up to 20 members of the meeting. They were summoned or forcibly taken to the police where the opposition activists were demanded to stop their political activities.
In turn, Elshad Hajiyev, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry press service, denied allegations of pressures on anyone in the police.
"The police do not exert any pressures on anyone, including on account of their political affiliation," Hajiyev said.-06B-
