PFPA Activist Arrested in Geychay
In Goychay a member of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party (PFPA) Mohammed Mirzali has been arrested for 20 days.
The young man was walking along the road Baku-Gazakh, when workers of the post-patrol police drove up and asked why he was walking along the road. To this he replied that there is no sidewalk, that is why he was on the edge of the road. After that he was taken to the police and they made a report that the young man swore obscenely on the street and did not obey the police. The district court sentenced him to 20 days in jail.
As they told Turan in PFPA, Mirzali was arrested for his socio-political activity.
The young man’s mother reported that in the last 3 days he was followed by unknown men.
He was even warned not to show any activity.
It is noteworthy that earlier on similar charges, another activist of PFPA, employee of the newspaper Azadlig Khalid Garayev was arrested for 25 days. -06B--
