Police detained another phone fraudster
Employees of the 13th Police Department of Sabunchu district of Baku have detained a telephone fraudster, resident of the capital Sergey Karnaukhov, born in 1978.
The investigation established that having entered into criminal relations with certain persons abroad, Karnaukhov received addresses of specific persons in Baku via social network "Telegram" from them.
He contacted these addresses, informing people that their close relative had had an accident and needed money to help him.
Thus, Karnaukhov was able to fraudulently obtain a total of AZN 43,000 from three citizens.
He transferred most of the money to the accounts of his foreign partners and kept some for himself. The investigation established that he had committed similar actions earlier in the Nasimi district of the capital. This is stated in the report of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry on Monday.
The Interior Ministry urges citizens to be careful and never provide money to strangers.
