The main theme of the independent press remains popular protests due to rising prices.
Official newspapers write about Ilham Aliyev receiving credentials of new ambassadors of several countries, as well as the President’s order on the appointment of new ambassadors of Azerbaijan abroad.
These newspapers do not write about the protests started in regions of the country.
Azadlig regards protests in the Fizuli, Lankaran, Siyazan and Agjabedi regions as a start of a social explosion.
The attempts of official Baku to prevent the growth of prices by administrative methods are criticized. The economist Nemat Aliyev believes that the government simply cannot overcome the crisis, and the head of the National Council Jamil Hasanli ironically notes that even the prosecutors are not able to prevent it.
Express writes about the detention of the merchants who raised the price of eggs.
Echo believes that it is time for structural changes, otherwise it will be impossible to avoid protests.
Bizim Yol cites the opinion of the economist Samir Aliyev, who said that the Central Bank to solve the population’s credit problems can spend money earned in the collapse of the manat.
Yeni Musavat also writes about protests started in regions of the country, and the former Prime Minister Panah Hussein says that the government should urgently start anti-crisis measures.
The expert Samir Aliyev says the government measures in the present situation are inadequate. –0--
